Ten years ago, I worked exclusively as a journalist, for just one paper. In other words, I had only one customer.

But since then, I've issued hundreds of invoices, to hundreds of clients.

How did that happen?

Well, it dawned on me that many other people might be interested in having me deliver some kind of product or service.

If you are looking to build your income, one of the simplest things you can do is look for more customers who might want what you can already supply.

But who?! And how to find them?

The first thing I did was sit down and think about all the problems I was currently solving, whether for money or not, then think who else might want those solutions.

They might include people and organisations I already knew, or they might be new to me. They might pay, or they might not – not at first, anyway. (I'll be writing soon about how we can help people to see value in what we have to offer.)

The key thing was to list them all.

This video shows how I went about it – and how you can do the same, in less than an hour. Let me know how you get on!
