As with any form of communication, it’s helpful to have clear terms of engagement. As a rule, with everyday emails, I aim to:
- Keep messages short
- Use clear requests
- Tell you if no reply is needed
- Avoid using attachments
- Assume the best, not the worst, if I hear nothing from you
