From John O’ Groats to Lands End, powered only by wind and sunshine

So what ? I went that distance powered only by the sandwiches I ate on the route.
Swapping from one huge motorized vehicle to another is inevitably only tinkering around the edges of what we could achieve so far as reducing our dependence on fossil fuels.
The Dutch manage to make a third of their journeys by bicycle. Why not the UK ? The answer’s actually very simple. We don’t put effort into human scale infrastructure in the UK.
It requires the sort of changes to the layout of our towns that you can see in the Netherlands. Changes like those shown here:

We’re organising a Study Tour this summer to show this off in our new home in the Netherlands (we emigrated last year).
